Alumni Success on Display During Alumni Week

UC ALUMNI CELEBRATION TO HONOR IMPRESSIVE GROUP OF OUTSTANDING BEARCATS
|
In the University of Cincinnati’s rich 205-year history, our alumni have made a BIG impact on the world. Each spring during Alumni Week, we recognize these tremendous collective contributions, and next Thursday’s UC Alumni Celebration provides this year’s splendid centerpiece. Our 2024 class of 18 alumni honorees will be the stars of the show. In fact, right now they’re literally bigger than life as the subjects of a striking new mural being completed in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood on Vine Street between downtown Cincinnati and our Clifton campus (adding to Cincinnati’s reputation for outstanding public street art).
Leading the way is Dean Kereiakes, MD, PhD, A&S ’75, Med ’78, Hon ’14, who will receive our highest alumni honor, the William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement. As one of the nation’s leading cardiologists, Dr. Kereiakes and his fellow honorees exemplify how our lifelong Bearcats are “Boldly Defining Next” through their varied accomplishments and enormous influence.
A seasonal bookend to fall’s Homecoming festivities (mark your calendar for Oct. 19 when the Bearcats host new Big 12 member Arizona State), Alumni Week is a central element of the UC Alumni Association’s ongoing work in facilitating and championing alumni success. After all, a true measure of UC’s value is the success of our alumni, because preparing our students and supporting our graduates to make their own unique mark is our collective purpose.
I hope you’ll have the opportunity to join us next week and further strengthen your relationship with your alma mater.
Go Bearcats!
