Alumni Week Spotlights UC Family’s Innovation, Impact
|
Impressive Group of Bearcats for Life to Be Honored at Alumni Celebration
|
Our rapidly evolving world relies upon those whose determined spirit and innovative genius generate tremendous change for the better. Next week, we’ll pay tribute to the UC alumni family’s historical impact in driving such progress while saluting a stellar 2026 class of 18 honorees at our annual Alumni Celebration.
Leading the way is Vinod Dham, CEAS ’77, who will receive our highest alumni award, the William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement. Widely known as the “Father of the Pentium Chip” for his pioneering work in the semiconductor and computer chip field, he embodies innovation and impact on a global scale. Dham and his fellow honorees are the subjects of a striking new mural on Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine. Individually and collectively, they personify the excellence that has been a hallmark of UC alumni for more than two centuries.
The April 16 Alumni Celebration is a cornerstone of Alumni Week, which runs April 13-18. It features a variety of events designed to enhance the UC alumni experience, including our 24-hour UC Day of Giving, a “Bearcats in the City” networking event just a block from our mural site, a BEARCATS/Health “Nature as Medicine” webinar, alumni reunions on campus and across the country, and UC Football’s Spring Showcase.
I hope you’ll have the opportunity to join us next week for one or more of these experiences, help us celebrate the tremendous UC alumni success in which we all share, and further strengthen your relationship with your alma mater.
