New School Year Begins with Record Enrollment

The Start of Fall Semester Carries Meaning for Students and Alumni Alike
|
“Back to school.” Those three words encompass so much: Renewal and recommitment, new chapters in a life story, the promise of exciting possibilities within an extraordinary educational experience. We’ve all been there and recognize how “back to school” altered the trajectory of our lives. Here on campus, the cycle has started again.
UC just welcomed a record 54,000 students for the fall semester of the 2025-26 academic year. As you read this, their futures are being shaped to enable each individual to make his or her unique impact on the world. As they do, both the UC community and our own UC networks continue to grow stronger. Students today and alumni tomorrow, these are our fellow Bearcats for Life.
We can take great pride in our alma mater, which is fulfilling its mission so well that we’re bucking enrollment trends across the country. In the past eight years while most institutions have seen declines, UC has added about 10,000 students to its yearly enrollment. As you may have seen in President Neville Pinto’s email to all alumni last week, our students are largely attracted by the Next Lives Here strategic direction centered around innovation; these newest Bearcats know UC will help them meet the challenges that await. The proof is in the tremendous accomplishments of our alumni, and how they have been Boldly Defining Next for more than two centuries. Going forward, that will surely continue to be a constant in this changing world.
Go Bearcats!
