FESTIVITIES INCLUDE CINCINNATI’S BLINK IMMERSIVE LIGHT EXPERIENCE
|
Two great Cincinnati traditions come together this month as UC’s Homecoming coincides with the return of BLINK, the nation’s largest public light and art event which draws upward of two million attendees. This time around, BLINK will help us shine a light on our legacy of alumni excellence: The event’s 35-city-block map of immersive art experiences includes the UC Alumni Mural in Over-the-Rhine depicting this year’s UC Alumni Celebration honorees. Visitors can see our mural Thursday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 20, along with 80+ other light, mural and projection mapping displays, throughout the BLINK experience.
Meanwhile, an exciting variety of Homecoming activities will take place on campus — from college-based and affinity network events to an exhibition basketball game between UC and Ohio State in Fifth Third Arena on Friday, Oct. 18. Of course, Saturday, Oct. 19, is the big day. Our traditional Homecoming Parade will roll down Clifton Ave. at 8 a.m. Then the Bearcats will host new Big 12 Conference foe Arizona State at noon in Historic Nippert Stadium, where we’ll announce the 2024 Homecoming Royalty at halftime. Be sure to wear red!
I’m always thrilled to welcome our alumni home. Tens of thousands of lifelong Bearcats will make the trip, drawn back to the campus and community they hold so dear. I hope you’re among the many who return to UC to be a part of the Homecoming festivities. See you there!
Go Bearcats!
