If someone asked you to name some of the UC Alumni Association’s various activities that enhance the alumni experience, “visiting exotic, bucket-list places” probably wouldn’t make your short list — but you’d be missing the boat, or train, or plane. That’s because our Alumni Travel Program is one of the most exciting opportunities we offer. It’s a chance to literally see the world alongside other UC alumni.
As you’re reading this, Bearcats are heading home from 10 days in the British Isles and northern France, including the historic beaches of Normandy on the 80th anniversary of D-Day with Dwight David Eisenhower II as historian-guide. During the second half of this year, alumni travelers can take a pair of memorable cruises — one to Greece and Turkey, the other to Singapore, Bali and Indonesia. Our 2025 schedule features trips to Costa Rica and the Panama Canal; the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Malta in the Mediterranean; the Dalmatian Coast on the Adriatic Sea; and a river cruise/rail journey through the heart of Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
I was proud to serve as host for a UC travel party of 23 to Iceland earlier this year (see above). The chilly temperatures were offset by the warmth and camaraderie of my fellow Bearcats. That instant UC alumni bond is a common thread on all our trips, whether we go north, south, east or west. Our UC Alumni Travel Program partners are experts at arranging amazing excursions and making the entire experience seamless for our travelers. If you have a desire to see new (and very old) places, I encourage you to explore your UCAA Alumni Travel Program.
Bon Voyage … and Go Bearcats!
